Police and sources say that a creep with a knife was caught this week trying to take a 2-year-old girl from her mother in Queens while yelling, “Give me your baby or I’ll stab you!”

Police and sources say that around 3 p.m. Thursday, 32-year-old Peter Vonderhofen rode his bike up to the 31-year-old woman brandishing a knife and making the frightening threat. He then ran away from the area near Atlantic Avenue and 109th Street in South Richmond Hill.

The mother and child were not hurt, and about 30 minutes later, Vonderhofen was caught by cops.

When the suspect was caught, police and sources said they were able to connect him to two armed robberies that happened near the same crossing last week, less than 24 hours apart.

At 9:45 p.m. on Oct. 2, Vonderhofen is said to have snatched a 44-year-old woman’s bag with a knife and stolen the things inside after approaching her.

The next day, at 8:35 p.m., cops say the bad guy walked up behind a 49-year-old man, put his hand on him, and stole his cell phone while showing off his knife.

Police said that both of the crimes happened in the same place.

Vonderhofen was later charged with stealing in the first degree in all of these cases.

He is also charged with attempted kidnapping in the second degree, illegal possession of a weapon in the third degree, acting in a way that hurt a child under 17 and menacing in the second degree.
