A 7-year-old boy and his mom were robbed and slapped by a disturbed woman in a mugging at a grocery store in NYC

Police and surveillance video that The Post got Friday show that a woman who was upset took a wad of cash from a 7-year-old boy at a Bronx grocery store and then got into a fight with his mom.

Around 11:40 a.m. on September 24, the burgundy-haired thief ripped the child’s bills out of his hands as he paid for fruit at Richard’s Fruit and Vegetable on Jerome Avenue near Marcy Place in Mount Eden.

A store video shows the cruel thief taking the money and then hitting and slapping the child’s 38-year-old mother, who was pushing a stroller with a baby in it.

The suspect was seen wearing black and gray athletic clothes in different video shared by the NYPD. Police say she ran off and went north toward East 170 Street.

Police said that EMS treated the mom at the scene of the accident.

Richard’s Fruits and Vegetables has been family-owned for 27 years, and Erick Vidals, 44, is a co-owner. He says that the boy’s change was stolen.

“To be honest, it shocked me at the time because I have my own kids,” he said after seeing the video.

He said that he had seen the attacker before when he was hanging out in the neighborhood and begging people for money, but never when he was wearing a red wig.

He said, “That’s something we’ve never seen before.” “taking $3 and $4 from a 7-year-old kid.” It’s crazy.”
